IPS Empress CAD is a system of composite (leucite-based) ceramic blocks that are commonly used for CAD/CAM dental restorations for individual teeth including veneers, inlays, onlays and crowns. IPS Empress CAD obtains its outstanding homogeneity and strength of 160 MPa in an optimized industrial manufacturing process. IPS Empress CAD LT blocks feature a lower degree of translucency, making them ideal for most full coverage restorations (e.g., full crowns, large partial coverage restorations and veneers). The LT blocks are less translucent, which makes them appear higher in value, therefore resulting in a brighter restoration.
